Equipment Transfers
Commercial Equipment Transfers
Equipment transfers for approved compact units within light- and medium-duty capacity.
Service Summary
Equipment Transfer for Approved Compact and Small Commercial Equipment
Commercial operations frequently require the movement of compact equipment between job sites, depots, storage facilities and repair locations. TowDaddy provides equipment transfers for approved non-running and compact equipment within light- and medium-duty flatbed capacity — including contractor equipment, landscaping machinery and small construction tools that meet weight, dimension and loading requirements. Every equipment transfer request is reviewed for weight, dimensions, loading points, securement needs and pickup and destination access before dispatch is confirmed.
Equipment transfers differ from vehicle towing in that the load is non-vehicular and may require specialized rigging, blocking or securement. TowDaddy does not provide heavy-equipment hauling or transport for oversized loads. For fleet vehicle moves, see fleet vehicle relocation and scheduled fleet transport.
Equipment Transfer Use Cases
TowDaddy equipment transfers cover the most common compact commercial equipment movement scenarios for contractors, landscapers and service businesses in the GTA.
Contractor Equipment Transport
Transfer of compact contractor equipment — compactors, generators, small attachments and similar units — between job sites, yards and storage facilities within flatbed weight and dimensional limits.
Landscaping Equipment Moves
Transport of approved landscaping equipment including compact walk-behind machinery and towable units to and from seasonal job sites, storage yards and service locations within capacity.
Compact Construction Equipment
Small construction equipment approved for flatbed transport is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Weight, dimensions, loading points and ground clearance are confirmed before dispatch.
Non-Running Equipment Recovery
Approved equipment that is non-operational can be loaded onto a flatbed for transfer to a repair facility, equipment dealer or storage location when the unit meets capacity and loading requirements.
Job-Site-to-Job-Site Transfers
Moving compact equipment from a completed job site to the next active site is a common contractor need. TowDaddy coordinates pickup and delivery to both locations within the GTA.
Storage and Depot Transfers
Equipment moving into or out of storage facilities, company yards or off-site depots can be transported on a flatbed when the unit meets capacity requirements and loading access is available at both locations.
When to Request an Equipment Transfer
Equipment transfer is appropriate when compact commercial equipment needs to move between locations and cannot be self-propelled, towed by the client or transported on a standard trailer.
- Compact equipment needs to move between job sites within the GTA
- Non-running equipment must be transported to a repair facility or equipment dealer
- Landscaping or contractor machinery requires seasonal repositioning to or from storage
- New equipment delivered to a dealer needs transfer to the work yard or depot
- Equipment has been repaired and needs return transport to the active job site or fleet yard
- Business is relocating and compact equipment must move to the new work location
- Multi-piece equipment moves require coordinated sequential flatbed transport
How Equipment Transfer Dispatch Works
Submit Equipment Details
Provide company name, dispatcher contact, equipment type, make and model, estimated weight, dimensions, loading points, condition, pickup location and destination through the request form or by calling 647-949-7729.
Capacity and Access Review
TowDaddy reviews equipment weight, dimensions, loading points, securement requirements and access at both the pickup and destination locations to confirm eligibility before dispatch.
Loading and Securement
The operator arrives, assesses the equipment and loading area, loads the unit onto the flatbed using appropriate loading techniques and secures it for safe transport.
Delivery and Off-Loading
Equipment is delivered to the confirmed destination — job site, storage facility, depot or repair location. Dispatcher confirmation is provided on completion of the transfer.

Capacity and Eligibility
Equipment transfer eligibility is reviewed before every dispatch. TowDaddy only transfers equipment within light- and medium-duty flatbed capacity. The following factors are reviewed:

Check Vehicles We ServiceEmergency Equipment Recovery Versus Scheduled Equipment Transfer
Emergency Equipment Recovery
For non-running equipment that has broken down at a job site or location and must be recovered urgently — for example, a generator or compactor that has failed and is blocking access, or equipment damaged on a job site that cannot remain overnight. Emergency recovery is subject to capacity availability and equipment eligibility.
- Available 24/7
- Priority for unsafe or blocking situations
- Transport to repair facility or depot
Scheduled Equipment Transfer
For planned equipment movements with advance notice — job-site mobilization, seasonal storage transfers and depot repositioning. Scheduled transfers allow businesses to confirm pickup windows, arrange access at both locations and coordinate with project timelines, reducing operational disruption.
- Confirmed pickup windows
- Both locations access confirmed
- Project timeline coordination
